Sweet Dreams...

http://www.olioboard.com/boards/17678-dreamy-bedroom
One thing I have noticed about many designer rooms is the neutural base for the more expensive items such as flooring, upholstery and curtains. Designers often start with this kind of foundation and then add in less expensive items, like art, pillows, bedding, lamps and accessories. This is a great idea for those of us who like to change things around alot! I was inspired to create a mood board with all of these thoughts in mind and it came out pretty well indeed (if I do say so myself!) With all the creams, muted greens and blues, I get that dreamy feeling... Definately a room that would help me to drift away into sweet dreams.....zzzzzz....

Inspired by Heron Art

Bed Bath and Beyond - Heron

http://www.olioboard.com/boards/17630-heron-inspired
Well, my birthday was back in October, and for months prior I was lusting over this gorgeous heron canvas from Bed Bath and Beyond. I kept seeing it everytime I went in and even contemplated buying it more than once.. anyways.. as the story goes, we head to BB&B to buy it for my big day and you guessed it.... GONE! I thought "oh well, no biggy, I can still buy it online," and of course OUT OF STOCK. *insert bleep here*...

So here we are near Christmas and it's back again.. too bad the hubsters bought all my pressies already... :-(.
I will just have to wait until I see it again and hope I have my 20% off coupon handy!

To pay homage to the bird I created a mood board of a shabby chic, driftwoody sort of boudoir.. one day he will be mine!

A More Masculine Bedroom

So I thought I would try something different and attempt a more manly mood board today! I really love the way it came out. I think this look would be great for a trendy, young bachelor who wants a modern take on a traditonal  style room. What do you think?? My inspiration came from the photo below... {love Phoebe Howard}!

Olioboard Addict

I have found a new love! http://www.olioboard.com/ It's a great (free) website that allows you to create and save your own mood/inspiration boards. The one above is my very first. It was so simple to do. Olioboards has a bunch of images ready to use, and you can upload your own too.

My own creation was inspired by some of my favourite rooms. I think for a novice, I did a pretty good job!
