British Colonial West Indies Style

Mahogany carved furniture, sisal rugs, potted ferns, animal skins, botanical prints, telescopes, framed maps, orchids, steamer trunks, ceiling fans, rattan, bamboo..... all elements of the British Colonial style that we can see today in many a design magazine or designers portfolio. I found a great article outlining the style in general. http://www.associatedcontent.com/article/99353/british_colonial_design_style_furniture.html?cat=30

Here are some of my picks for creating a British Colonial style room:

Tommy Bahama - Island Collection

Williams Sonoma - Rafia Wallcovering

Lamps plus -  South Beach Mahogany Circle table

WSHome - Pony Hair Zebra hide rug

Lamps plus - Zebra print pillow

Calico Corners - Corazon Seaglass

The Fabric is my modern update :-)

Horchow - Faux Orchids

What would you add to complete the room?

    1. Hi Frank. Im not quite sure where those exact lamps are from, but here are a few that give a similar feel:

I think aslong as the proportion of the lamp is similar to the one pictured, it should look great! I particually like the National Geographic range at Lampsplus.com, Sally
